I'm all for people loving their apple products. I love my iPhone too. But unlike some of these apple fans, I don't consider my iPhone to be the holy grail of smartphones.
True, however it's like watching two people with tiny peckers argue about who's is biggest ... in other words, it's pointless.
The iPhone users being overly enthusiastic does not give Android users the right to come on and literally, and this is exactly what the do, TELL the iPhone users that they are wrong, like it's factual. Having an opinion is one thing, but coming onto a forum created for a certain product and telling users of that product what their opinion SHOULD be, isn't on.
I have yet to see one Android forum with as big an influx of rabid iPhone users who come on to do nothing but argue and disagree, as there are Android users on here.
Now, I am fully aware and appreciative that there are Mac users who own Android devices. However, if someone states that the Retina Display (super dooper marketing name and all) is the best display of any smartphone (and I happen to think it is, but that's my own preference) then who the hell is anyone to openly quote and say they're WRONG?

yes, I hope it's true.
I have the gut feeling that Apple is holding off until end of October to:
• first, sell as many ipods as they can
• wait for the Zune
• have a special event for the Video ipod
• have momentum for the Xmas season
I look forward a 120gig drive nd a way to input data on the road ala PDA. that would be very nice.
As for ThinkSecret, who cares what they say. Like macrumors says they go back and forth because they just have no clue and if this indeed happen or not they will say they were right. What a joke.

Thats just the NT version. Windows 8 will be 6.2
7 was 6.1,
Vista was 6.0
XP was 5.0
Technically Windows 7 is the 10th version of Windows, if you don't count Windows Server.
Windows 7 is the 7th version if you count from Windows 95.

Well if they do launch it so soon, it probably won't replace the current iPods, but be a new highend model.
I agree, the 5.5 release is too soon to have it be a full replacement. Additionally it will likely be a lot more expensive and an unnecessary extra cost to those who don't need that functionality. Now the question remains however, will there be multiple capacities for the "true video" or just one large on?

I would hope that if they've closed all the stores, that they will have some new media for all the stores - otherwise it's just a really stupid decision by Apple!

REALLY REALLY hankering for a backlit apple keyboard for EONS! using the same backlighting features as on the laptop keyboards. If they can do it on the laptops why don't they do it on the keyboards?

There big time investors also won't take 'just because' as an answer to why Apple won't license there OS, if the growth stops than there is no alternative.
They will take "because it'll kill Apple's hardware business, which is where Apple makes most of their money" as an answer, however.
Apple's interests lie in selling high-margin solutions, not bottom-of-the-market extremely low margin PCs.
Think of Dell as Ford, and Apple as BMW.

I was on multiplayer earlier, you'd be surprised at how many thousands of people are already on it, via pre-orders I assume and different timezones judging by the different accents people had.

Doesn't anyone remember that this used to be the case? Right in the beginning, there was a live video feed to all the Apple stores... I went to two of them, both at the Mall of America store (and both times sat next to some very quirky Mac users... y'know... the regular type). Then one year, I went and it wasn't on. I was pissed. Then I learned Apple wasn't doing that because it was too expensive or something.
Seeing the floor traffic of those places, I don't see how it couldn't be lucrative to get passers-by excited about fresh products...

My computers dedicated for pro digital photography don't require more than ~5GB for the OS and apps, so that would leave 25GB for RAW data. 64SSD would certainly give more breathing room since most sessions are 20GB to 50GB.

This arguement will go around and around in circles, but look, people could have been saved if the administration had not cut funds to FEMA and redirected them to the war in Iraq. If Bill could get impeached because he got head, then is it unreasonable to hold George acountable for this?

George didn't lie about anything under oath... he just had bad inteligence. :o
